Self-propelled BRILL cars were the forerunners of the present cars and did a good job all over North America. This car built in 1930 and now numbered SRS 121 is still in service; in fact, I recently meet a young man who works aboard this car and we had quite a discussion about his working on a piece of equipment older than either of us!
